Where do tutoring sessions take place?
Most tutoring sessions occur in the convenience of your own home. We recommend that your student have a designated place that is quiet, well lit and supplied with the necessary materials. If in-home tutoring is not convenient for you or your student, we may be able to make accommodations at school or a local library.

How do you select a tutor for my student?
We carefully consider the academic goals, learning style and personality of your student before matching him/her with a tutor. The more information you can provide us during the initial consultation, the better we will be able to match your student with the tutor best suited to his/her specific needs.

Why don't you have your own curriculum?
Most of our clients request tutoring services because their students are having a difficult time in school. Therefore, we find it more effective to use the guidelines set forth by the school curriculum and to teach your students how to excel within those guidelines. In the event that the school curriculum is not sufficient and supplementary materials are needed, we use well-established and proven methods and materials.

How do you track the progress of my student?
Your tutor will pay close attention to your student's strengths and weaknesses and will communicate your student's progress to you in bi-weekly progress reports. Each report will provide detailed information on the topics your student and his/her tutor have covered, the improvements your student has made and the areas on which your student should continue to focus. When appropriate, the progress report will also include an analysis of your student's homework and at-school tests. Furthermore, your tutor will give follow up assignments and issue regular practice tests that will prepare your student for upcoming exams and allow you and the tutor to accurately gauge your student's progress and understanding.

How are the tutoring sessions scheduled?
We schedule all tutoring sessions at you and your student's convenience. Once we have determined how many hours per week will be necessary for your student to meet his/her goals, we will schedule your sessions on the days and times that work best for you and your student. We strongly recommend that you commit to a regular weekly schedule in order to ensure that your tutor is always available for you. Last minute changes and requests will be filled according to the tutor's availability. In the event that you require tutoring only on an "as needed" basis, your sessions will be scheduled around your tutor's regularly scheduled appointments. All scheduling requests must be made through the Head of the Class office.

How much do the different programs cost?
We have a graduated fee scale that is based on the number of hours per week your student requires, and not on the particular tutoring program or subject. Please see our Rates page for specific rate information.

How will I be billed?
All tutoring services will be charged via credit card. At the beginning of each month you will receive an invoice detailing the upcoming month's tutoring sessions and your credit card will be charged shortly thereafter. All payments are collected through the Head of the Class office so you never have to worry about paying your tutor directly.
