At Head of the Class, the primary goal of our tutors is to help your student achieve academic success by establishing a positive, mentoring relationship. Our tutors will combine their extensive knowledge of the subject matter at hand with their ability to communicate effectively with your student. A successful tutoring experience is equally dependent on both of these factors. We will select a tutor for your student based on his/her personality, learning style and specific academic goals in order to ensure the best possible results.

Head of the Class does not use a pre-set curriculum or assessment system for several reasons. First and foremost, we find that the vast majority of our clients seek out our services in order to improve their student's performance at school. Therefore, it is much more effective for our tutors to use the curriculum provided by the school. In the event that the school curriculum is not sufficient, we will provide supplemental material and our tutors will employ creative solutions to fill in the gaps.

Furthermore, because the needs of each student vary so significantly, we believe it is more effective to customize a plan for each individual. Through open communication with you, your student, and his/her teacher(s), our tutors will determine the best course of action to achieve maximum results. Our tutors will come to each session prepared with a plan to address both your child's academic and organizational needs. In addition, your child's tutor will provide bi-weekly progress reports so that you may see what has been accomplished, how your child has improved and what areas he or she may still need to focus on.
